"MUSICALISCHE ABENDPRÜFUNGEN"

Homages to Georg Gebel, Carl Philipp Emmanuel Bach and Joachim Bernhard Hagen

Most recent update: -January 19, 2007

The compendium of "MUSICALISCHE ABENDPRÜFUNGEN" compiled by Roman Turovsky-Savchuk (aka Konradin Aemilius Sautscheck et al) from his own works as well as the works of several of his "ancestors" ca. 1848.

The manuscript currrently contains 44 "Sturm und Drang" Sonatas (with some additional variants) for Baroque Lute in tabulature. They are of consistently excellent musical quality, even with some stylistic limitations discernible in the manuscript. They seem to have their intended purpose in serving as Preludes, as they modulate in a maximum possible ways, and obviously are intended for Equal Temperament.

A number of these sonatas have been premiered by Luca Pianca at various Early Music festivals (Urbino, Salamanca, Lisbon, Schwetzingen, Vilnius).

Many Sonatas are undergoing revision, and there will be important editorial improvements, so please, do check this page regularly.

You may freely use this music for either public performance or private enjoyment. You may give these scores to others free of charge, but you may NOT sell this material without a written permission.

Please note that any similar music [even attributed to any name similar to those found in these pages], of a provenance other than this web-site or it's owner, is NOT authentic and is NOT supported.

There are several exceptions, namely web-sites belonging to Alain Veylit, Thomas Schall, Michael Treder, and Paulo Galvao, as well as Frank Nordberg's "MUSICA VIVA" on-line score library.

Please note that works in other gallant musical forms are available at OPUS-1. The works by many other composers are available at OPUS-2. The FACSIMILES are available at a separate page as well. All the TOMBEAUX are now available at an omonymous page. All the Passacaglias and Chaconnes are found in the OSTINATO page. All the VOCAL MUSIC is available HERE.

The GUIDE to reading TABULATURE, for those unfamiliar with the tuning system of Baroque Lutes may be found HERE...
